CNA Certification, Classes, Schools and Jobs in Delaware

Individuals can become a certified nursing assistant in the state of Delaware upon successful completion of state approved course work and certification exam at an approved testing site. Approved training programs adequately prepare students to sit for this exam. All programs require a minimum of 75 hours which includes a minimum of 37.5 clinical hours. Programs range from 5 weeks to a full semester in length. The cost of these programs is between $1400 and $4000, though some long-term residential care facilities may offer free training programs. Payment plans and scholarships are often available colleges and technical schools. In some locations that offer free training, students may be eligible to receive compensation during the clinical portion of the program with an established commitment to that facility. Beebe Medical Center

The Nursing Assistant Program at Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing at Beebe Medical Center is a 150 hour, 36 credit certification program. The classes are held at The School of Nursing, with clinical opportunities at Harbor Healthcare. The program cost is $1,750.00 and includes book & all course materials. The Nursing Assistant Program is approved by the Delaware Department of Health and Social Services Division of Long Term Care. Delaware Technical Community College

The 150 hour CNA program at Delaware Technical Community College consists of two core components: 75 hours of classroom/lab training and 75 hours of hands-on training at an approved clinical site. An additional 5 hours are scheduled for mock testing and final exam. The course meets for 31 sessions: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 5:00-10:30 pm at the Delaware Tech’s Owens Campus in Georgetown, Del., and various approved clinical sites. The course fees are $1,550 includes textbook and CPR course. Tri-State Technical School

The CNA program at Tri-State Technical School is a 5 week course preparing students through classroom and clinical training. The cost of the program is $2100 which includes Text Book, supplies, CPR & First Aid certification, background check and state exam fees. A $500 deposit is required for enrollment in all courses. KFW Medical Institute of Delaware

The certified Nursing Assistant Program at the KFW Medical Institute is a 6 week course. Students that complete the required 156 hours of training—78 hours of class instruction and 78 hours of clinical/practical experience in a hospital nursing facility—in theory, labs and the clinical areas. Lee Training Institute

The CNA program at Lee Training Institute meets evenings for 12 weeks from Monday through Thursday, 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Each student is required to complete 80 hours of classroom instruction and 84 hours of clinical experience. The cost of the program is $3200 and includes books, uniforms, CPR training, immunizations and other course materials.

Dawn Career Institute

In the Dawn Career Institute CNA program, students are required to participate in a clinical learning experience at an approved nursing facility under the supervision of an instructor. The length of the program is 240 clock hours over 10 weeks in the day program and 240 clock hours over 12 weeks in the evening program.
